STEAM MILL, NS - A Keddy's Corner man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle collision in Steam Mill Dec. 18.

Kings RCMP said in a press release that at approximately 3:45 p.m., a car and a dump truck hauling an excavator collided on Lakeville Road. The 46-year-old driver of the car has been transported to the QEII Hospital in Halifax.

Police, paramedics, New Minas firefighters and the provincial transportation department were all called to the scene. RCMP remain on the scene and are investigating the crash. It's expected that Lakewood Road will remain closed between the Steadman Road and Highway 359 in Steam Mill until about 3 a.m. on Dec. 19. Traffic is being diverted along Highway 221.
