MIDDLETON, NS - A Middleton man has been charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly stabbed another man July 28.

Just before 1 p.m. on July 28, Annapolis District RCMP responded to a fight in progress in front of a residence on Main Street in Middleton. Prior to RCMP arrival, it was reported that a 27-year-old man of Middleton had been stabbed during the altercation.

The victim was initially transported to the Soldier's Memorial Hospital in Middleton and then to the Valley Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, RCMP located the suspect. 

Thirty-two-year-old Martin Andrew Ross, of Middleton, was remanded into custody and appeared in Digby Provincial Court on July 30. He remains in custody and will return to court on Aug. 10.

The investigation is continuing.
