KENTVILLE - Investigators do not believe foul play was involved in relation to the body recovered from the Cornwallis River Tuesday.
The Kentville Police Service rushed to the Cornwallis Street bridge leading out of downtown after receiving a 911 call around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10.
“A short time later, police and Kentville Fire Rescue recovered human remains. An autopsy was completed in Halifax this morning by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner,” said Kentville Police Service Insp. Darryl Brown in a prepared statement Oct. 11.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Kentville man Lance Peter Murray. Murray, Brown noted, was reported missing Sept. 27.
“Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance. Our thoughts are now with his family and loved ones.”
