Halifax police ask for help as they continue to investigate murder

HALIFAX, NS - With the first anniversary of the murder of Tyler Bradley Richards on Monday, police are hoping someone will come forward with information to help find his killer.

At 7:55 p.m. on April 17, 2016 police responded to a report that a deceased man had been located in a home in Cook Avenue in Halifax. Officers found 29-year-old Richards deceased inside the residence. Following an autopsy, the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

Halifax Regional Police believe there are people who have information they have not yet provided to police that could help solve his murder and they’re hoping those people will come forward.

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to contact police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at  or texting a tip - Tip 202 + a message to 274637.

This case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program and the province of Nova Scotia is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that results in an arrest and conviction.
