Kentville, Truro split NSSBL double-header at Memorial Park

KENTVILLE, NS - The Kentville Wildcats and Truro Bearcats split a double header as Memorial Park hosted Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League action.

Kentville won the first of two home games on July 23, with a final score of 7 to 3. Darson Murphy of the Bearcats hit two singles, scored two runs and had two stolen bases. Truro’s Jeff Chisholm hit a single, batted in a run, had two walks and two stolen bases.

Kentville’s David McIntyre hit two singles, scored a run and batted in a run while teammate Brandon MacKay hit three singles and scored a run. Kentville’s Dryden Schofield hit a double and batted in two runs.

The tide turned in the second game as Truro scored a 10 to 1 win over the Wildcats. Darson Murphy of the Bearcats hit two doubles, three singles and scored three runs. Truro’s Dan Bates doubled, hit two singles and batted in three runs while John Chapman of the Bearcats doubled, hit two singles and scored a run. Truro’s Jeff Chisholm hit two singles and scored two runs while teammate Matt Mingo hit two singles, scored two runs and batted in a run.

Kentville’s Colby Turple tripled and batted in Kentville’s single run while teammate Alex Ostrov doubled.
