The Shamrocks had two easy wins over the Kennetcook Braves July 30 in Hantsport, winning by scores of 18-0 and 8-3. The victory gave the Shamrocks a record of 14-4 for 46 points compared to the Blue Jays' 16-4 record, which is worth 52 points. Whichever team has the most points as of Aug. 7 at noon will earn the right to host the tournament.
This weekend, Aug. 5-6, Hantsport will travel to Noel Road to compete in two doubleheaders. Games will be against the Sherose Island Trap Schooners and the Noel Road Blue Jays.

Sunday’s action saw the Shamrocks win 18-0 in five innings in Game 1 as they scored eight runs in the first inning, four more in the second, and then added three more runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Kennetcook did manage seven hits against winning pitcher Eric Such, but could not connect in the clutch.
As for Hantsport, Chad Munroe went one for two with an RBI double and Matt Russell went three for three with three runs and a double.
The second game saw the Shamrocks register an 8-3 verdict over the Braves.
The Shamrocks scored five times in the third inning, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.
The Braves scored their runs with one in the top of the first and,when they were trailing 7-1, added two in the fifth inning, before Hantsport scored their final run.
Adrian Lloy drilled three doubles for the Shamrocks and collected a pair of RBIs.
Brandon Hatt started for the Shamrocks but did not record an out before being relieved by Nick Croft who went four and two-third innings, giving up two runs and striking out four. Matt Lloy finished up throwing the remaining innings, allowing two hits while striking out three.
Hantsport also recorded two wins over the Windsor Knights on July 23 by scores of 4-3 and 2-0.
Kyle Johnston recorded a pair of hits in both games for the Shamrocks. Matt Lloy pitched the opening game win for the Shamrocks and Tim Clayton pitched the second game. Austin Sabean started for the Knights before Alex Sabean pitched the final five innings for the Knights in the first game, and Adam Ferguson suffered the loss for the Knights in the second game.
The Knights are fighting hard to play in the championship series weekend but are involved in a tight race as they presently occupy fourth place with a record of 9-10 for 37 points. They are one point back of the third place Sherose Island, who have 38 points.
The Knights take on the Pictou County Albions Aug. 5 – a team that trails the Knights by one point in the standings.
The Knights will have four huge home games coming up Aug. 12-13. The Knights will take on Sherose Island and the Truro Bearcats, who currently occupy sixth place in the league with 35 points.
Each win represents three points and a loss is worth one point. The top four teams in the league advance to the final, which is to be played at the end of August.
