North Kings Eagles win provincial baseball banner

HAMMONDS PLAINS - The North Kings Eagles midget AA baseball team completed a successful 2015 season by capturing silver medals at the Baseball Nova Scotia U-18 provincials.

The Eagles competed in the midget AA division of the Bluenose League and finished the regular season in second place behind Yarmouth with a 7-4 record.

At the provincials in Hammonds Plains, after nipping the Pictou Orioles 1-0 in the semifinals, the Eagles moved on to the provincial final against Cape Breton.

North Kings took an early lead but lost 8-6 and settled for the silver medal. It is believed this is the first-ever provincial medal won by a team from the North Kings Baseball Association.

Team members included Morgan Isnor, Logan Moore, Nick Croft, Dylan Cochrane, Bruce Higgins, Bradley Tipple, Colton Disley, Noah Turner, Ethan Payne, Riley Matheson, Ben Rudderham, Zack Herber, MacKenzie Schofield, coaches Dave Payne and Matt Croft and manager Mike Turner.
