The first game was a fantastic demonstration of the way top fastpitch softball is played worldwide, with the Rockies scoring a 3-1 win at home.

Both teams plated a run in the second inning. The Rockies finished the game's scoring as Jason Sanford scorched a drive, which cleared the fence in deep right centre, and then with two out, Tyler Whynot hammered a pitch that went deep left field and over the fence.

Justin Schofield pitched the win for the Rockies, allowing no earned runs, two hits while striking out 12.

Patty Benedict doubled and singled in the second and fifth innings respectively for the Rockies.

It was a completely different story in the second game as it was called after three innings as Halifax was in front 16-0.

The Pepperjacks scored eight times in the first inning and eight more times in the third for the decisive victory.

The Rockies used a combination of three pitchers in this game, with Curtis Broussard starting and allowing the game's initial five runs, Matt Lyttle relieving and giving up three more before Benedict came on and gave up the final eight runs of the game to Halifax.

The Pepperjacks hit a pair of home runs in the second game to assist their cause.

Similarly to last season, the White Rock Rockies have a number of Hants County players. They will be playing their 18 home-game schedule at the St. Croix ball field.
