White Rock Rockies returning home to host two doubleheaders

WINDSOR, N.S. - The White Rock Rockies will try and get back into winning form before the season winds down.

The Rockies will play one more road game in Lantz on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. against the league’s third place team, the Atlantic Heating Charros.

As of Aug. 10, the Charros have a 12-7 record compared to the Rockies’ 7-14 record.

The Rockies will return home to play four games to complete their 2017 regular season.  

On Aug. 24, the Rockies will play the 10-10 Nova Scotia Canada Games team who have returned from Manitoba after finishing fourth in the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

The doubleheader will start at 7 p.m. in St. Croix.

On Aug. 31, the Brookfield Elks, presently only a half-game behind the Halifax Pepperjacks with at 13-5 record, will be in St. Croix for a twinbill starting at 7 p.m.

Top pitcher returns

Justin Schofield has returned to the Rockies line-up again after pitching for the Hill United Chiefs, from Ontario, at the 2017 USA Men’s Major Fast Pitch Nationals in South Bend, Indiana. 

The tournament had teams from Ontario, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota and New York.  

Schofield’s team fell 12-3 to the New York Gremlins during the championship final.
