The offensive all-stars were third-year inside receiver Brian Jones (Enfield, N.S.), third-year offensive tackle Ethan Charters (Oromocto, N.B.) and fifth-year guard Kirby Fletcher (Grimshaw, Alta.)

Jones led the conference in receiving this season with a school record 57 receptions for 639 yards along with three touchdowns.

This is Fletcher’s third appearance on the AUS all-star team, but his first as an offensive rather than a defensive lineman. He was a defensive all-star in both 2012 and 2013.

The defensive all-stars were fourth-year linebacker Drew Morris (Ottawa, Ont.), fourth-year defensive end Jesse St. James (Pincourt, Que.) and fifth-year defensive back Brett Backman (Tantallon, N.S.).

St. James, an AUS all-star for a second straight year, tied for the conference lead in quarterback sacks this season with eight.

Morris was second in the conference in tackles with 61 (43 solo, 36 assisted) and tackles per game with 7.6.

Backman, an AUS all-star for a third consecutive season, was credited with 26 tackles (21 solo, 10 assisted) and tied for the team lead with three interceptions.

Last but certainly not least, Acadia’s final AUS all-star is fourth-year placekicker Ryan Begin (Orleans, Ont.).

Begin finished the season with 62 of Acadia’s 144 points scored. He was good on 17 of 18 field goal attempts (missing only his final attempt of the regular season) and was 11-for-11 in convert attempts.

Begin also found his way into the AUS record book this season. He is now tied for third in most field goals in one game with five, and tied for fourth in field goals made in a season with 17. He finished the 2014 season as the leader among active players in career field goals with 46, the fifth-highest total in AUS football history.
