Ogilvie, also handling the kicking chores, added a pair of field goals and a convert to round out the Titans’ scoring. West Kings fell to 1-3 with the loss.
Titans’ head coach Reg Ogilvie gave kudos to Schofield, who “was absolutely outstanding in all three aspects of the game – offence, defence and special teams.”
The NKEC defensive unit continued its strong play – the Titans’ defence has allowed just 23 points in its first three games – and was “outstanding” against West Kings.
“Honorable mention goes to Jordan Simon, playing his first game at quarterback.”
The Horton Griffins, meanwhile, saw their record fall to 0-3 with a 55-10 thrashing at the hands of the Sir John A. Macdonald Flames.
According to Horton head coach Steve Melanson, the game was scoreless after one quarter but quickly went downhill for the Griffins from then on.
The high points for the Griffins were a touchdown pass from Luke Oulton to Alex Hayes and a Mac Muirhead field goal that rounded out the Horton scoring.
“We had some players injured, and things just fell apart after that,” Melanson said. “Everything that could have gone wrong did.”
Horton will host Citadel Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Acadia.
