Acadia Axemen lose one, win one at nationals

FREDERICTON NB – The Acadia University hockey Axemen lost 3-0 to the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds today on their home turf in Frederiction.

The final goal in Saturday’s semifinal matchup was an empty netter. Acadia lost at the University Cup National Hockey Championship despite having several power play opportunities.

Earlier in the week though the eighth-ranked Acadia Axemen defeated the top-seeded University of Alberta Golden Bears in Thursday's opening game.

The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, with the bronze medal game at 9:30 a.m.
