After a scoreless opening period, Saint Mary's scored twice in the second and twice more in the third.

Michael Curtis opened the scoring at 4:33 of the second period. Jamie Doornbosch made it 2-0 with a shorthanded goal at 11:44.

In the third period, Gerrad Grant gave the Huskies a 3-0 lead at 7:44. Stephen Johnston rounded out the scoring with a power play goal at 16:03.

Final shots on goal were 36-23 in favour of the Axemen. While Huskies' goalie Anthony Peters was solid in goal, the edge in shots wasn't really indicative of the overall play as the Axemen managed few really good scoring chances.

Game four of the series is a 7 p.m. start Feb. 24, back at the Halifax Forum.
