Josh Dill said he was happy with the teams recent turnaround, winning four games in a row since Feb. 6.
Their game against the East Hants Penguins, saw the Maple Leafs come out ahead with 7 - 2 at the Hants Exhibition Arena on Feb. 12.
“Obviously after last year, winning everything, we knew this year would be a rebuild, so our goal was to make the playoffs,” Dill said. “Now we’re going to finish the regular season in first or second place so I think everyone in the organization is pretty happy.”
If The Cole Harbour Colts win against the Liverpool Privateers on Feb. 14, the Valley Maple Leafs will be in first position. If the Privateers win, the Valley Maple Leafs will be in second, with Liverpool taking the top spot.

“We have some injuries, so hopefully we can use this week to get a practise or two in and let the guys rest that need it,” he said. “Our goaltender Chris Cloakie is back playing the way he can.”
Cloakie was playoff MVP of the Don Johnson Cup during last season.
“Drew Stonehouse, who’s played eight or nine games with us, after coming from Junior A Valley Wildcats, had a shoulder injury, but is back now feeling a bit better,” he said. “Local Falmouth kid, Bailey Peach, who was playing AAA midget in Cole Harbour played his first game, he came out and had three points for us.”
Dill also called out the team’s six defensemen for stepping up to the plate in the latter part of the season.
But with the playoffs fast approaching, Dill knows it won’t be easy.
“Anyone in our division can come out winning our division, it’s going to be a tough playoff for everyone,” he said.
The Valley Maple Leaf’s first playoff game is Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Windsor.
