As part of the “cheer like never before” contest put on by the network show, seven young hockey teams submitted videos of a cheer ahead of the Wolfville stop on the tour. Five were picked to give their cheer in front of the crowd.

The seven- to 10-year-old girls with the Valley Wild Atom A team won the local prize – and new hockey sticks – Nov. 29, along with a chance to compete for a trip to an NHL game at the end of the season.

Valley Wild’s female hockey programs include girls from West Hants to western Annapolis County.
