With Heather McLean placing second overall with a round of 83 and sister Meghan finishing tied for third at 86, Horton turned in a team score of 169, good for a five-stroke win over C.P. Allen and a seven-stroke bulge over third-place Park View.
Cumby, the third Horton team member, finished with a round of 88.
Allison Chandler of Park View won the girls’ individual championship with a round of 79.
On the boys’ side, Newbridge Academy won the provincial team banner with a score of 233. Lockview was second at 235 and C.P. Allen third at 237.
Justin MacDonald of Newbridge won the individual competition with a round of 71. Andrew Cooke of C.P. Allen was second at 74 and Shawn Margeson of Lockview third at 76.
In other local golf news, Heather McLean has been named the NSGA 2015 Junior Female Player of the Year, and was also recognized for the greatest reduction in handicap in her division. Meghan McLean is NSGA 2015 Valley Player of the Year.
