CANNING, NS - NKEC held an athletics banquet to celebrate the hardworking student athletes of the 2017-2018 year.
The banquet, held on the evening of June 4, was attended by over 300 student athletes, coaches, and relatives.
Dale Sanford, director of athletics at NKEC, was happy to have such a high attendance for the event
“It is absolutely amazing to see that support and very exciting to see the positive direction of our athletics' programs,” said Sanford.
Sanford attributes this positive direction to the school’s administration and parents, coaches who care and give of their time, and student athletes, who Sanford says, are “representing our school the right way.”
Sanford added that he is “very proud to be the athletic director at Northeast Kings Education Centre for these very reasons.”

Junior Male: Cameron Oickle - Track and basketball
Junior Female: Kate Burris - Soccer and track
Senior Female: Claire Belliveau- Basketball, soccer and curling
Senior Female: Rachel Sheffield - Soccer, hockey, rugby and track
Senior Male: Dyton Blackett- Hockey and football
Senior Male: Patrick Allen- Soccer, hockey and track

Junior Male: Ira Johnson Lenihan – Cross-country, soccer, track
Junior Female: Sarah MacDougall - Volleyball, table tennis and rugby
