KINGSPORT, NS - It’s a celebration of community that’s been going on for almost 40 years.
The 2018 Kingsport Gala Days, a celebration of the communities of Kingsport and Medford, features events taking place at various venues on June 30 and July 1.
Some of the celebrations on June 30 included a community-wide yard sale; vendors, the Race Against the Tide fun run, live musical entertainment, yoga on the lawn, canteens, displays and activities at the Lloyd Memorial Centre, a chicken barbecue, a fish chowder and strawberry shortcake luncheon at Emmanuel United Church, a special interest car and motorcycle display, children’s games and a washer toss tournament in Kingsport Park and - of course - a firework display at the waterfront at 10 p.m. to wrap-up the day’s activities.
The fun continues on Canada Day, July 1, with a sandcastle building competition at the beach at 9 a.m. and a service at St. Thomas Anglican Church at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments on the lawn.
Kingsport Gala Days is organized by the Kingsport Community Association and is sponsored by residents and local businesses.
