PORT WILLIAMS – Each year is a little different for Santa when he sits down for breakfast with kids in the Annapolis Valley.
And with them are different gift ideas whispered in his ear by young kids excited about what they may open up Christmas morning.
This year, jolly old Saint Nick said he received a lot of requests for hover boards and L.O.L dolls at the Breakfast with Santa event Dec. 1 at the Port Williams Community Centre.
The requests were about what he expected, he said.
But some things never change, according to the holiday hallmark – that kids are all very excited to open gifts Christmas Morning.
“They always look forward to that,” he laughed, with a ho ho ho.
Children and their families lined up for hot breakfast and a chance to meet Mr. Claus at the event, and some also had a go at guessing how many jelly beans were inside a jar – something that proved harder than it looked, according to Gregory Fisher, aged 5.
“I think it’s 50 – no, maybe 500 – I don’t know,” he said.
In the end, he settled on somewhere between the two.
