AYLESFORD, N.S. — The Saturday headliner for this year’s Fox Mountain Country Music Festival is no stranger to Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Leona Williams, known for her chart-topping hits and marriage to Merle Haggard, is headlining the Saturday night show at the four-day music festival running from Aug. 1-4.

Williams always pleases her audience with her powerful voice, funny stories, and infectious personality.  Also travelling from Nashville is recording artist Ron Williams and popular duo 2Country4Nashville.

Matt Balsor & The Hilltop Show Band will also perform at the festival, along with Broken Circuit, Justin Wood Band, The Deluxedos, Jon Raven Band, Lady Rogue, Rob Kirkham & Neon Rain, Lisa Richard, Joyce Seamone, and John Snyder & Country Heat.

Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Matt Balsor is the new host and co-ordinator of the Fox Mountain Country Music Festival as it enters its 16th year. After celebrating 20 years in the music business last year, Balsor says he is excited about this next chapter in his career and the future of the festival.

Each year, thousands of music lovers from Nova Scotia and beyond gather at Fox Mountain Camping Park in Aylesford for the outdoor festival the first weekend in August. This year, the festival will feature entertainers from the United States, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

On-site camping is available and included in the purchase of a weekend pass (early bird price $70 HST included). Day passes are also available for those who can’t spend the weekend. Early bird pricing ends July 1.

There will be a special presentation made to Joyce Seamone in the afternoon Aug. 3. Seamone, who retired last year, hosted and organized the festival since its inception. Balsor, along with the owners of Fox Mountain Camping Park, Neil and Heidi Tupper, want to thank her for helping make the festival one of the premier music festivals in Nova Scotia.
