GREENWOOD – Five-year-old car enthusiast Riley Carty-Caldwell’s eyes were wide with awe as he looked inside a yellow Chevrolet Camaro in Greenwood Sept. 8.
Carty-Caldwell pointed to a model Camaro inside the real car, and said, “I’ve got lots of these at home.”
And while his favourite car at the Wings and Wheels Car Show, he said his ultimate favourite is his own model Lamborghini.
Carty-Caldwell was one of several hundred people who attended this year’s event at the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum, where old and new cars were parked beneath the wings of historic aircraft like the Lancaster, T-Bird, Neptune and Argus airplanes.
The show draws its unique name from the classic, antique, and special interest cars it features that are parked beneath vintage aircraft at the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum.
This year’s show showcased more than 250 cars, guided tours inside some of the vintage airplanes.
