Wolfville Farmers Market celebrates National Flower Week with Bloom! Festival

WOLFVILLE, N.S. —

The Valley has no shortage of farmers’ markets with fresh produce, but there’s only one that puts such an emphasis on National Flower Week.

The Wolfville Farmers’ Market threw their first Bloom! Festival on July 20. The market was filled with the lovely scent of flowers throughout the morning and attracted people like bees to… well, flowers.

The musical duo of Donna Rhodenizer and Andy Duinker played and sang outside the market in the shade, and happily played to the gathering crowd. They had a bucket of small instruments for young musicians to come and join in on the performance.

The entrance of the market was decorated with a floral decoration where people could pose for a photo and share it with the Wolfville Farmers’ Market’s Instagram page. Everyone was more than pleased to spend the morning outside in the sunlight surrounded by bright flowers and fresh food.

Aside from all the plants, plenty of artists were out showcasing their talents. Creations ranged from custom-designed shirts, glass window decorations, and hand-crafted wooden pens. Seeing the Market as packed as it was reinforces the value Nova Scotians place on local businesses.
