WINDSOR, N.S. — A Falmouth man accused of arson will be back in court in March to enter a plea.
Mark Graham Saulnier, 56, of Falmouth, was charged with intentionally or recklessly causing damage by fire to the Nova Scotia Housing Development Corporation’s property on Avon Street in Windsor following an investigation into the Oct. 6 fire.
The Windsor Fire Department attended the afternoon emergency call and upon arrival, noticed smoke coming from the left-hand side of the 2.5 storey building. Residents and staff had already evacuated the building. After the fire was extinguished, the fire marshal’s office was notified and investigated.
Saulnier was not present in court on Nov. 27. His lawyer requested an adjournment to Dec. 11 for election and plea, which was granted. Saulnier was not present on Dec. 11 and had not filled designation of counsel. The Crown wasn’t opposed to proceeding without it for the day.
The matter was adjourned to March 5 for election and plea.
