CHEVERIE, N.S. — The RCMP is asking the public to be on the lookout for stolen jewelry.
On Oct. 15, Windsor RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter. Police determined someone had broken into a Cheverie residence and taken a large amount of jewelry.
The home was entered sometime between Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. The suspect gained entry via a window, then took the jewelry, which is valued at between $2,000 and $5,000. The items stolen included genuine and imitation gold, silver and pearl rings, necklaces and bracelets.
RCMP have canvassed the area and continue to look for suspects. Police would like to advise the public to be cautious and on the lookout for potentially stolen items when purchasing such items online or in secondhand shops.
