Carpenter will serve house arrest for the first four months, to be followed by daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the remaining two months. This will be followed by 12 months of probation. The court imposed a five-year firearm prohibition against Carpenter and granted a secondary DNA order in relation to the assault charge.

Carpenter committed the offences in Kentville on July 27 and between Dec. 24 and 26, 2018. Charges of uttering a threat via text message to cause harm and criminal harassment were dismissed on July 17 with the Crown offering no evidence.
