COLDBROOK, NS – Flames were shooting through the roof of a Coldbrook home when firefighters arrived at the scene of a house fire Feb. 26.

Thick, dark smoke from the fire at the split-level home on the Harrington Road could be seen billowing in the air above the community as firefighters battled the blaze.

Heavy damage was visible to the exterior of the home and Kentville Fire Department deputy chief Jeff Martin said the home was a “complete loss.”

New Minas and Waterville fire departments were called to the scene in mutual aid to help battle the blaze, which was called in by neighbours shortly after 10 a.m. Firefighters fought the fire for a while but were able to extinguish it quite quickly.

Martin said that no one was injured in the fire and the cause is under investigation.
