GREENWOOD - A Wilmot man is facing dangerous driving and assault charges after allegedly causing a collision and then starting a fight with another driver.
An RCMP release states Kingston District RCMP were dispatched just before 1 p.m. on March 8 to a motor vehicle accident involving three cars on Central Avenue in Greenwood.
The accident was allegedly caused when the first car stopped suddenly, which caused a second car to swerve and hit a third car.
Police allege the drivers of the first two cars then exited their vehicles and became involved in an altercation. Police also say these two men are known to each other, and that police separated them.
Both men were assessed and released at the scene by EHS.
The second driver, a 28-year-old man from Wilmot, is facing charges of dangerous driving and assault. He was released from custody under specific conditions and is to appear in Kentville provincial court on May 21.
The release also states police issued a separate ticket at the scene to a driver they allege recorded the incident with his cellphone. The ticket was for using a cellphone while operating a motor vehicle, and carries a fine of $237.50, and if convicted, adds four demerit points to a driver’s license.
