MIDDLETON, N.S. — Soldiers Memorial Hospital’s emergency department in Middleton will be closed from 9 p.m. Aug. 16, until Aug. 17 at 8 a.m., due to lack of physician coverage, the Nova Scotia Health Authority said in a media release.

Additionally, the walk-in x-ray service at Soldiers is closed on Friday, August 16 due to equipment maintenance.

Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, the authority said.

For non-urgent care, please call your family doctor, nurse practitioner or visit a walk-in clinic where available.

For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.

The Mental Health Crisis Line can also be reached 24/7 by calling 1-888-429-8167.
