This is the latest court report for Kings and West Hants counties.

Suspended sentence for assault, uttering threat

Daniel Robert Joseph Anderson, 28, of Berwick, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for committing an assault and uttering a threat to cause bodily harm and has been handed an absolute discharge for willfully killing fish that were kept for a lawful purpose.

Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charges in October and the matters were adjourned to March 5 for trial. Evidence was heard and exhibits were entered at the trial. Judge Alan Tufts found Anderson guilty on all counts.

Tufts handed Anderson a suspended sentence with 15 months of probation on the charges of assault and uttering a threat.

Anderson committed the offences in Berwick on July 15, 2017.

Suspended sentence for assault

Amanda Lynn Horsman, 30, of Windsor, has been handed a suspended sentence with probation for committing an assault.

Horsman changed her plea to guilty in December and the matter was adjourned to March 6 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed Horsman a suspended sentence with 12 months of probation.

Horsman committed the offence in Windsor on July 7, 2017.

Conditional discharge for assault

Andrew William Logan, 36, of Union Corner, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for committing an assault.

Logan pleaded guilty in December and the matter was adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing. Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed Logan a conditional discharge with one year of probation.

Logan committed the offence in Union Corner on Dec. 3, 2017.

Assault, undertaking offence

Bradley John Hubbard, 36, of Kentville, has been handed a conditional discharge with probation for committing an assault and failing to comply with his undertaking.

Hubbard changed his plea to guilty on the assault charge and pleaded guilty to the undertaking charge on Nov. 14, 2017. The matters were adjourned to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.

Judge Alan Tufts handed Hubbard a conditional discharge with nine months of probation on the two charges.

Hubbard committed the offences in Kentville on Sept. 26 and Oct. 7, 2017.
