An autopsy has confirmed that human remains found in the Cornwallis River in New Minas Thursday morning were those of a missing North Kentville man, RCMP said Friday.

Joshawa Bentley, 29, was last seen at a pub in Kentville the night of March 23. He was reported missing the next day.

Security footage from the Kentville courthouse showed him near the river that night.

Police, search and rescue volunteers and firefighters spent several days in the next couple of weeks looking for Bentley. A helicopter, boat, ground teams and a Department of National Defence boat with sonar were all used to look for him.

Police said in a release that foul play is not suspected.
