LAWRENCETOWN, N.S. — Two Annapolis County women are now before the courts on drug charges following a home search and related traffic stop that resulted in police seizing methamphetamine pills, drug paraphernalia, a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and ammunition.

An RCMP press release circulated May 9 says the rifle had “what appeared to be a homemade suppressor attached.”

The home search occurred on Main Street in Lawrencetown May 7. The seizures were made as a result of both this search and a related traffic stop, the RCMP release says.

Christina Daniels, 43, and Laura Longmire, 29, stand accused of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. Daniels, who was arrested without incident during the home search in Lawrencetown, is also facing firearm-related charges.

Longmire, a Middleton resident, was arrested without incident after a traffic stop along Highway 1 in Lawrencetown.

The women were released from custody following a provincial court appearance in Digby May 8.

The RCMP’s Annapolis District Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) led the investigation, with Valley Integrated SCEU and Annapolis District RCMP offering assistance.
