MIDDLETON, N.S. - A two-month drug investigation in Annapolis County has resulted in six adults being charged with drug offences.
RCMP from Annapolis and Kings counties searched three homes on Dec. 6 and arrested the suspects. As a result of the investigation two ounces of cocaine and approximately 200 methamphetamine pills were seized.
The following people have been charged:
-- Joshua Leslie Vroom, 33, of Bloomington, Annapolis County is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearms, and two counts of Unsafe Storage of Firearms;
-- Madeline Leigh Kiley, 21, of Bloomington, Annapolis County is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearms, and two counts of Unsafe Storage of Firearms;
-- Max B. Trask, 23, of Middleton is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and two counts of Breach of Recognizance;
-- Jemini Christian Hayward, 24, of Middleton is charged with two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking;
-- Travis Edward Tremblay, 47, of Wilmot is charged with two counts each of Trafficking Methamphetamine and one count of Trafficking Benzodiazepine, also two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime;
-- Justin Lawrence Mader, 37, of Margaretsville is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Vroom, Kiley, Trask, Hayward, and Tremblay have been released and are scheduled to return to Digby Provincial Court on Jan. 30. Mader was also released and is scheduled to return to Kentville Provincial Court on Feb. 12.
The investigation was led by Annapolis District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit with collaboration from other area police forces and RCMP units, police said in a media release.
Assistance was provided by police officers from Kings District Street Crime Enforcement Unit, Annapolis and Kings district RCMP, and Kings District General Investigation Section. RCMP Southwest Nova Police Dog Services also assisted with this operation.
The SCEU unit in Annapolis District are members of the RCMP. The SCEU unit in Kings District includes members of the RCMP and Kentville Police Service.
