Halifax police are investigating the death of a woman in north-end Halifax.
Her body was found in a residence owned by the Halifax Peninsula Housing Co-op at 6316 Willow St. on Tuesday morning. A co-op board member contacted by The Chronicle Herald hadn't heard about the incident and was too upset to comment.
Neighbours of the housing co-op contacted Tuesday declined to comment.
Investigators and forensic officers responded to the scene after police received a "suspicious circumstance" call, Halifax Regional Police said in a news release.
The Chronicle Herald has been told the backyard of the co-op is being dug up as part of the investigation. When asked to confirm this, a Halifax Regional Police spokesman said he couldn't provide any other information beyond what was in the original release.
