GASPEREAU, N.S. – “How is Santa so quiet as he leaves presents around the house?”
Kings County News visited Holly Lyn Robichaud's Grade 1 and Primary class at Gaspereau Valley Elementary School, with help from principal Ruth MacLeod, to hear what students had to say - and got some unique answers.
Most students decided Santa must tiptoe, and others said it must be magic – take a look at what each student answered below.
Kyler Gillott, Grade 1: “Santa has tiptoe boots – they’re black – but he takes them off. He also doesn’t talk. “
Robert Butler, primary: “Santa comes in the door, but you can’t see someone when you’re sleeping.”
Geneva Eaton, primary: “He wears really quiet shoes, I think.”
Lilly Chappus, primary: “Santa tiptoes so quietly, but once I caught him – he was putting presents under the tree and I saw him go right up the chimney.”
Zavier Saaloukeh, primary: “Well he walks quietly. I don’t want to hear Santa because I put ear muffs on to sleep with.”
Ellis Robbins, Grade 1: “Santa is magic and has not-loud-boots. They’re loud in the North Pole, and puts on his quiet boots when he goes in people’s houses.”
Livia Pace, primary: “He wears soft boots, kind of like wool. He might have quiet laces or Velcro, too, so you really don’t hear him. His soft boots probably look the same as his other ones.”
Sarenity Davidson, Grade 1: “He might fly with magic instead of walking. But I think he tiptoes.”
Kai Levy, primary: “Because everyone is sleeping. And Santa is so quiet, and takes little steps.”
Brooklynn Davis, Grade 1: “It’s because Santa has magic, and he throws magic on his feet.”
Orrin Kelday, Grade 1: “He floats down the chimney, takes presents and puts them really carefully under the tree.”
Rawly Cole, Grade 1: “He gets tinier,” he said, holding up his fingers to show about one cubic centimetre. “This tiny.”
William Landry, Grade 1: “I don’t hear Santa because I’m asleep too long, and because he tiptoes and doesn’t wake me up.”
Kacey Spinney, Grade 1: “He tiptoes slowly and holds his bag over his shoulder. It makes him quieter.”
Emsley Riggs, primary: “He floats with magic from his reindeer.”
Jackson Crouse, Grade 1: “Santa goes super fast, so fast that you can’t see him.”
Asa Lussing, Grade 1: “Santa is always quiet.”
Rosie Milner, primary: “He can fly with his magic, with his reindeer. They all get their magic from the sleigh.”
Susie Sorbetti, primary: “I’m all the way upstairs, and I sleep really good so I don’t hear him. And he doesn’t talk, so I don’t hear him because of that too.”
Levi Myra, Grade 1: “Maybe he uses magic, that makes him float. Oh and my mum got a picture of him one year.”
