WINDSOR, N.S. — The RCMP is urging business to beef up their security measures in light of recent break-ins.

Between March and June 2019, four small businesses in the Windsor and Garlands Crossing areas have been the victims of break and enters, and in all cases, the suspects broke glass out of a door or window and stole cash that was stored on site.

No arrests have been made in the four break-ins, and all four appear to be related.

Windsor District RCMP is asking small business owners to think about the security measures they currently have in place at their businesses.

“To promote safety and security in our communities, we are asking business owners to consider re-evaluating their security measures. That could mean adding security cameras, and never storing cash on site," said Cst. Dave Trenholm, of Windsor District RCMP, in a press release.

“Also, anyone who observes suspicious behaviour is encouraged to contact us so that we can check it out.”

Windsor District RCMP is asking anyone with information about these incidents to contact them at 902-798-2207. To remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips App.
