Town of Berwick announces new bylaw officer

BERWICK, N.S. — The Town of Berwick now officially has a new bylaw enforcement officer.

Ella Redden will serve as the special constable, bylaw enforcement officer for the town for the next six months.

For this particular position, Redden’s area of expertise includes the awareness, education and enforcement of provincial statutes related to parking dangerously and dangerous/unsightly premises, and all town bylaws.

These bylaws include; bylaws relating to dogs; outdoor fires; peace and good order and protection from second-hand smoke.

Redden holds a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University and a Conservation Enforcement Officer Certificate from Holland College.

Her vocational experience includes time spent as a conservation officer in Alberta and small business ownership.

Redden is a senior volunteer member of Valley Search and Rescue and has received extensive training in incident command, search management and advanced first-aid.
