Vaughan man charged under Cannabis Act after suspicious package intercepted, home searched

LOWER VAUGHAN, N.S. — On May 9, members of the RCMP Windsor District Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) were alerted to a suspicious parcel sent to a resident of Hants County.

According to a press release issued May 17, investigators were led to a home in Lower Vaughan, which was searched with a warrant on May 16. As a result, police seized a significant quantity of cannabis and cannabis products.

A 29-year-old man from Lower Vaughan was arrested during the search and was later released. He is scheduled to appear in Windsor provincial court on July 23.

The man is facing several charges under the Cannabis Act and the file remains under investigation at this time.

Windsor District SCEU was assisted by members of the Valley Integrated SCEU, which is comprised of members of Kings District RCMP and Kentville Police.
