LOCKHART, Boyd Eric Boyd Eric Lockhart, age 83, of New Minas, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 (Annual Boyd Lockhart Day at Ken-Wo Golf Club) in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Minas, he was a son of the late Spurgeon and Frances (Lynch) Lockhart. Boyd had been employed as a golf pro at Ken-Wo Golf Club, New Minas for 34 years where he was instrumental in starting the Junior Program. Over his long career he had received many awards, including Builder of the Year from the NSGA and the Canadian Club Professional of the Year. In November of this year Boyd will be inducted into the APGA Hall of Fame. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing, both the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Ava. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Mosher), Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville; daughter; Natalie (Troy Jodrie), Port Williams; son, Steven (Jacquie) Neil, Kamloops, BC; step-son, Gordon (Jennifer), Gaspereau Mountain; grandchildren, Ava, Carson and Mitchell; step-grandchildren, Emma, Olivia and Hunter; sisters, Charlotte (William) Anderson, Melanson; Marie (Joe) Seward, Wolfville; brothers, Bradford, BC and Robert, Lawrencetown; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Gaul; brother, Malcolm; step-grandson, Tyler Davidson. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A funeral service, followed by a reception, will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. A special thank you to Dr. Adam Clarke and the nursing staff of the ICU - Valley Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Junior Program - Ken-Wo Golf Club. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
