Evelyn Corbett — Kentville

Evelyn Georgina Corbett – 87, of Lakeville, Kings County, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Lakeville, she was the only child of the late Howard and Ada (Bond) Smeltzer. She had been employed packing apples for Frank VanMeekeren in Lakeville. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Rafuse (Clifford), Lakeville; Priscilla “Paddy” (Ronald) Lenihan, New Minas; grandchildren, Steven Rafuse (Julie), Tammy (John DeGroot) and Sherry Rafuse (Ward); great grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Daniel and Brianna. She was predeceased by her husband, Guy; a son, Wayne; her companion, Daniel Gearing. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Evelyn’s life took place from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Meadowview Community Hall. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County, Pastor Christina Bigelow officiated. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
