Gordon Laurilliard

Gordon Laurilliard
Gordon Arthur Laurilliard - 85, of 1064 Rawding Avenue, Port Williams, formerly of Kentville, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Born in Falmouth, Hants County, he was the son of the late Arthur Roy and Ola Orena (Starrett) Laurilliard. Gordon was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Mae (Reynolds). He was employed by ACA Co-operative for 40 years as an accountant and by David Brown United Ltd., where he continued working until the age of 82 years. Gordon was a member of the Kentville Kinsman Club during the 1960’s - 1970’s. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching baseball, football and although enduring years of jokes, he remained a loyal Maple Leafs fan his entire life. His love of gardening and landscaping was a source of enjoyment and pride. The yard on Foster Street was a testimonial to his enthusiasm and attention to detail. These traits were admired by all who knew him both personally and professionally. Organizational skills were baffling to anyone who had witnessed Gordon’s desk piled high with papers, but when asked for a single sheet of paper, it magically would appear in his hand from the stacks of documents. During the past years, after retiring, Gordon became a regular member of the morning coffee crowd. He enjoyed his hours of socializing with the group and appreciated the many friendships that he formed with his fellow coffee drinkers. Special thanks to all who supported Gordon, with phone calls and visits, during his recent hospital stay. A loving husband, caring friend, dedicated father and grandfather, Gordon was a special man who will be sadly missed and always remembered as a remarkable man and a truly caring soul. Gordon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Pierce; daughter, Lesley Lynn Laurilliard, Kentville; stepsons, Eric and Donald Johnson; and grandchildren, Dylan and Kelsey Mack. By request of the family there was no visitation or funeral. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line inquiries and condolences may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
