Madeline Grace Huntley – 96, formerly of Woodville, Kings County, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born at Prescott House in Starr’s Point, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (Hines) Sanford. She had been employed with Cyrus and Manning Ells for 36 years and lived most of her life in Woodville. She was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by a daughter, Constance Margeson, Steam Mill; a son, Howard (Helen) Huntley, Kentville; a sister, Eleanor Grouse, Halifax; a brother, Gerald Sanford, Canning; six grandchildren, Terry, Phyllis, Karen, Jeffrey, Matthew and Wendy; great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph “Rawleigh” Huntley; an infant daughter, Margaret Rose Huntley; a great grandson; two sisters, Muriel Huntley and Ella Sanford; five brothers, Roscoe, Freeman, Keith, Ralph and Howard. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Burial took place in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. The family wishes to thank the staff at Mountain Lea Lodge for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Madeline during her time there.
