Mary Hood — Halifax

Mary Doreen (Graves) Hood, age 75, of Windsor passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the QEII, Halifax with her family by her side. Born on February 13, 1943 in Centre Burlington, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Burpee and Mabel (Benedict) Graves. Doreen was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, sister and best friend to so many people. She had an in-home childcare, where she looked after many children who all still consider her gram. She is survived by husband Gerald, Windsor Elms; sons, Kevin (Sherrie), Union Corner; Kerry (Wanda), Belmont; and Terry (Lesia), Union Corner; grandchildren, Shawn (Ashley), Bramber; Scott (Kim), Slave Lake; Glen (Lee-Ann), Union Corner; Tara (Clayton), Rawdon, Michelle (Devon), Halifax, Josh and Jen, both of Union Corner; Earl and Kendra, Falmouth; great grandchildren, Brayden, Baiden, Austin, Danica, Lane, Omari, Cameron, Casen, Kaylee, Rhett, Kaiden, Uriah and Elijah, sisters, Eleanor (Stan) Miller, Sackville; Judy (Dick) Hogan, Bellville, Ontario; brother, Mike (Jocelyn), Windsor; sisters-in-law Eileen (Grant) Sanford; Dot Shay, Windsor; Diane Graves, Sackville; brothers in-law; David (Peggy) Hood, Union Corner and Clyde (Diane) Hood, Windsor. She was predeceased by parents; daughter, Wanda; brothers, Gordon and Gerald; sister, Jean. Visitation was held 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday, June 24, in the Lindsay Windsor, Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was 2 pm Monday, June 25, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Helen Lindsay officiated.
