Maurice Harvey — Kentville

Maurice Allen Harvey – 79, of Kentville, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Steam Mill, Kings County, he was a son of the late Barry and Margaret (Mahar) Harvey. Maurice was an avid country music fan and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He had a green thumb and loved gardening. He was also a people person and enjoyed talking to everyone. He is survived by his wife, Florence (Ferguson); four daughters, Colleen (Harry) Myer, Prince Edward Island; Sharon (Jessie) Lewis, New Minas; Nancy Harvey, Kentville; Sherry Harvey, Kentville; a son, Barry, Kentville; two sisters, Eleanor Haggerty, Centreville and Joan Arenburg, New Minas; a brother, James (Bernita), Windsor; five grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Leota O’Connell; four brothers, Gordon, Ken, Clyde and George; a brother, in infancy. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service and reception at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Judith Saunders officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
