Olive “Jean” Williams - 89, of Kentville, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Bell Island, NL, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Hazel (Butt) Carnell. She was employed at various places over the years, including the Nova Scotia Sanatorium, M. W. Graves Ltd., and Camp Aldershot, from where she retired. She was a devoted mother and housewife. She is survived by three sons, David (Betty), Herbie (Beth) and Ronnie (Leta); three daughters, Rowena (Allan), Marlene (Andrew) and Tammy (Dave); eight grandchildren, Darren (Marie Eve), Timmy (Richard), Brett (Sarah), Michelia (Justin), Michelle, Mikey (Alex), Danielle (Ron) and Michael; seven great grandchildren, Sophia, Leo, Grace, Carly, Hayden, Kathrina and Michael; sister-in-law, Joyce Carnell; numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert; a son, Clive; a grandson, Christopher; two brothers, Wilfred and David; four sisters, Mabel Carnell, Dorothy Williams, Marjorie Baldwin and Daisy Moore. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019, Chaplain Chris Wickens officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. A reception followed in the Meadowview Community Centre, Meadowview, Kings County.
