Phyllis Schofield — Kentville

SCHOFIELD, Phyllis Levena, Age 76, of Hantsport, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Phyllis was born March 17, 1943 in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and resided in Hantsport for the past 53 years with her husband, Duckie. She was a daughter of the late Augustus “Gus” and R. Dorothy “Dot” (Wilcox) Moore. Phyllis was a loving Nanny and an amazing caregiver. She was a graduate of the Anslow Business College, and worked at the Court House in Halifax, as well as at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Hantsport Branch. She enjoyed playing cards and hanging with dear friends. Phyllis loved watching her grandchildren play hockey and soccer. She enjoyed countless phone conversations with dear friends and her sister. Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband, Duckie Schofield; her pride and joy, son Kevin (Susan) of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Maddison and Kian, whom she adored; sister, Carolyn Vaughan; brother, Doug (Marilyn) Moore, all of Kentville; sisters-in-law, Jean Schofield and Charlotte Moore, both of Hantsport; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Junior; brothers-in-law, Cy Vaughan and Charlie Schofield; and three siblings in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). The family invited friends to an informal reception to celebrate Phyllis’ life in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre on Saturday, May 25 from 2 – 4 p.m. lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to The Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia, 3770 Kempt Road, Suite 210, Halifax, NS B3K 4X8 or to a charity of one's choice.
