BATSON, Robert “Bob” LeRoy – 63 of Ottawa and formerly of Brickton, peacefully passed away Friday, August 24th in the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Ottawa, with his father by his side. Born in Middleton, he was a son of Francis “Frank” Batson, Clarence, Annapolis Co. and the late Ruth “Pauline” (Kennedy) Batson. Bob was a software support analyst for almost 10 years with Telus. He graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Science & Computer Science, prior to being employed with Nortel and later obtained a diploma in systems software security. Surviving besides his father are brothers, Rick (Wanda) of Brickton, Michael and Brian both of Clarence and Jamie (Tina) of Brickton; nieces and nephews, Alicia (Philip) Agombar, Mitchel Lowe (Vanessa Knox-Lamb), Emma Batson (Benjamin Williams), Breanna Batson, Mya Batson, Mikayla Batson; great nieces and nephews Felix, Paul, Effie and Joyanna Agombar, Avery Williams, Iziah Bent and Jasper Bowers. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Pauline. By request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held September 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM, in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square with Father John MacPherson, officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Ottawa, the Ottawa Humane Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
