Thelma Marguerite Gillis - age 97, formerly of Kentville, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Neily (Clowry) Pulsifer. Thelma devoted her life to family and the family floral business, H.H. Pulsifer Limited. A sports enthusiast at heart, she enjoyed fishing, curling, watching golf and the Toronto Blue Jays. She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Doug) Forbes, New Minas and Marilyn (the late Bruce) Scott, Kentville; daughter-in-law, Helen Gillis, Prince Edward Island; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Chris, Steve, Tina, Michelle, Jeffrey and Suzanne; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her partner, Frank Keddy; son, Harold “Sonny”; sisters, Jennie Marsland and Phyllis Lantz; brothers, Ivan, Frederick, Howard, Garth, Judson, Charles and Donald. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to Wolfville Nursing Home or the SPCA – Kings County.
