The home team hosted UNB for back-to-back games at Memorial Park Sept. 30. New Brunswick clinched an 8-4 win in the first showdown between the two Atlantic conference teams, and edged out Acadia 4-3 in game two.

The Axemen were on the road the following day for doubleheader action against St. FX. The home team narrowly won the battle of the bats on the road Oct. 1, leaving Antigonish with respective 5-4 and 10-9 wins.

With 16 games played as of Oct. 2, the fourth-place Axemen had a regular season record of five wins and 11 losses in the five-team league.
