The Wildcats led 3-0 after half an inning, but trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the ninth before Colby Turple's two-out, solo home run tied the score and forced extra time.

After Mark Haverstock held Kentville off the board in the top of the tenth, Mark Pelham led off the bottom of the inning for the Canadians with a single.

Kentville pitcher Alex Ostrov then threw a potential double play grounder into centrefield, allowing Pelham to come all way way around to score the winning run.

Haverstock, the third Halifax pitcher of the evening, allowed one run on just two hits in four innings of work, and picked up the win. Ostrov, who relieved Kentville starter David McIntyre in the eighth inning, took the loss.

Halifax ended up with five runs on 10 hits, and committed one error. Kentville finished with four runs on 10 hits and a pair of miscues.

Josh Pelham and Paul Davie each had two singles and one RBI for the Canadians. Jake Pelham added two singles, and Shawn Peverill a single and one RBI.

Kentville is next in action, weather permitting, June 11 in Dartmouth before returning home to host Truro in a June 14 doubleheader at 1 and 4 p.m.
