WOLFVILLE, N.S. – The UPEI Panthers used a big fourth quarter to defeat the Acadia Axewomen 70-62 victory Saturday in Atlantic University Sport women’s basketball action.
Reese Baxendale scored 15 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Panthers to the victory. Karla Yepez added 15 points while Carolina Del Santo had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Haley McDonald had 14 points to pace the Axewomen while Shayn Field contributed 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
The Panthers led 15-13 after the first quarter but went to the break trailing 31-29 and to the fourth quarter down 46-43.
Both teams are 3-1 after splitting their weekend games against each other.
